Business MeetingsKnown as the heart of the Virginia waterfront, Norfolk offers a variety of hotels and venues to accommodate meetings of every size - whether it’s ten or 2500! Affordable, accessible, friendly and ever so easy to get around in, Norfolk has something for everyone.

From full-service hotels to boutique inns and bed and breakfasts, Norfolk offers over 5000 rooms to accommodate any meeting budget. Many of our hotel rooms are located within walking distance of the city’s downtown meeting venues, shopping, dining, attractions and nightlife. From university settings, theaters, a world-class museum, to historic homes, Norfolk has an ideal location for a few or a few thousand.

Norfolk NETGetting around town could not be easier! Whether you are downtown or at one of our other hotels, you are never more than a 15-minute ride from any of Norfolk’s many great amenities. Norfolk has the Norfolk Electric Transit (NET), a free shuttle service running a 2.2-mile circuit around Norfolk’s downtown. In 2010, the circuit will be even faster with the completion of the 7.4 mile Norfolk Tide light rail system, which will expand access to other areas of our city.

And, the cost savings don’t stop there. Our Sail into Savings incentive program can help you save thousands on your master account for guestrooms, food and beverage and more! Give up style and comfort for affordability? Not here. It’s a high-impact, high style meeting destination your bottom line will enjoy as much as you do.

Centrally located on the Eastern Seaboard, Norfolk is located only hours from two thirds of the U.S. Population, making getting here and meeting here extremely convenient, not only for your travel needs, but your budget as well.

Meetings RestaurantWhat to do after the meeting? Not to worry! Norfolk is host to numerous chef-owned restaurants, great nightlife, a variety of recreational activities, exciting family oriented attractions, world-class performing arts and over 100 festivals throughout the year. Not to mention Norfolk rests on a beautiful waterfront just waiting to be explored by land or by water.

In addition to Norfolk’s attractions, many of Southeast Virginia’s major attractions are less than one hour away. Visit historic Williamsburg, step onto the sandy beaches of Virginia Beach, explore Busch Gardens, or take a lighthouse tour at Ft. Monroe or Old Cape Henry. There is much to see and do in and around Norfolk.

Norfolk is also a city thinking green. A number of our hotels, restaurants and venues have become Virginia Green Certified. So stay here and feel good about your meeting or convention’s footprint on the environment.

Community minded? Absolutely. We recognize many of our visitors want to give back, so we are partnering with VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads to provide our visitors with the opportunity to volunteer while you are visiting our city. Whether for an individual or a group, Norfolk and the Hampton Roads area will help you find volunteer opportunities in the area.

After all is said and done, the Norfolk Convention & Visitors Bureau has outstanding, award winning, and highly trained professionals ready to work with you in making your meeting and convention a success.
